Demystifying the Civil Service Merit System: The presentation provides an overview of the NYS Department of Civil Service and their examination process. The presentation also highlights their new initiative, Centers for Careers in Government, that seeks to support recruitment efforts through educating the public about state employment opportunities in pursuit to build tomorrow’s workforce today by promoting a diverse, inclusive, and talented workforce. Additionally, the presentation will go into their currently available program, NY HELPS, which helps to streamline the application process.
