Our thoughts go out to those who have lost their homes, businesses and most importantly their loved ones.

Thank you to firefighters and first responders! And thank you to the lodging and hospitality industry who was on the front end of this disaster since day one! We are so proud of you!

Fire activity damaged only a small portion of Sonoma County. Sonoma County encompasses over 1 million acres and most businesses are open and tourist are enjoying our beautiful destination.

As we rebuild as a community and as businesses, refer back to this page for resources to help.

Fire Recovery Business Resources:

If you are a business owner or employee of a business that has been affected by the Sonoma County Fires, check here for information about your next steps. See the Business Resources tab. Business Recovery Resources Handout

Price Gouging is Against the Law:

Price gouging laws not only apply to owners of businesses and properties but also any employee who "participates" in the activity. If a business raises its prices above allowable rates and an employee accepts a reservation OR accepts payments for said sale, they may be held liable also. Price gouging is a crime and should be reported immediately to Sonoma County District Attorney's office. See Price Gouging tab.

Re-House Sonoma County:

Convert your second home, vacation rental, granny unit, unauthorized unit or other units to a mid to long-term rental and help a displaced family as they rebuild their lives. SCLA strongly suggests that you contact an attorney or contract with a long-term rental management company to protect your personal property and assets. Any renter renting for longer than 29 days becomes a tenant and you should be fully aware of tenancy laws in your area. Sonoma County Lodging Association does not have the ability to help fill or list your long-term rentals.

Payroll tax extensions available:

Employers in Napa, Sonoma, and Yuba Counties directly affected by multiple fires may request up to a 60-day extension of time from the EDD to file their state payroll reports and/or deposit payroll taxes without penalty or interest.
